Very rare Identified Confederate D-Guard Bowie Knife with its Original medal tin Sheath pictured in the Confederate Bowie Knifes Book Pvt/Sgt/1st Sgt William C. McCord 34th North Carolina infantry. overall length 19 1/4 inches & blade length 14 inches this is pictured in the Confederate Bowie Knife Book on page 240.

1850`s Identified Wood head Fighting Knife from Sheffield England. Union Pvt. Charles Wandling, 9th co. k Hawkins Zouaves, New York V.V. I.   It has etching on the blade consisting of Swirls and Motto "Americans ask nothing but what is right & submit to nothing that is wrong".  In the middle of blade there is an Eagle and letters that read OK.  Also etched "United States the land of the free and the Home of the Brave". overall length is 14 inches & the Clip Point blade is 9 1/4 inches.  It was in three major Battles: Roanoke Island, N.C. 2/08/62- Camden or South Mills, N.C. 4/19/62- Antietam or Sharpsburg, MD.  They lost 60% of their Regiment. Featured in the North South Trader`s Civil War Magazine Vol. 29 No. 5/2003.

This knife is identified to Lt. Colonel Benjamin Franklin Pratt 35th Massachusetts Infantry wounded at Antietam Md. Sept. 17th, 1862.  Then was assigned to the 36th Colored Infantry U.S.  The Ricasso stamped with General Taylor on horseback & etching on the  ivory handle. Brevet Brig-Gen 3/13/1865 This Identified knife was owned by Bowie Knife Collector Bill Meyer & Floyd Ritter. All of his military & pension records are included with it. 1850`s Knife Spear Point Blade Size 8 3/4 inches & Overall Length 13 1/2 inches. { LATER WAS A BREVET BRIG. GENERAL }
  { GREAT IDENTIFIED KNIFE } ALSO CHECK OUT THE PRATT SWORD THAT I JUST BOUGHT THAT WAS ALSO WITH HIM AT THE BATTLE OF ANTIETAM MD. & FREDERICKSBURG VA. A GREAT SET TOGETHER AND SHOULD ALWAYS BE TOGETHER THE SWORD & FIGHTING KNIFE.

THIS IS A VERY NICE BIG FIGHTING CLIP POINT BOWIE KNIFE IT WAS SOLD TO ME FROM FLOYD RITTER BOWIE KNIFE COLLECTOR & EXPERT. IT WAS SOLD TO HIM MANY YEARS AGO FROM COLLECTOR FROM BIRMINGHAM ALABAMA IN 1984.
THIS SOUTHERN MADE BLACK SMITH D-GUARD KNIFE IS MADE FROM A WAGON WHEEL OR BUGGY SPRING VERY RARE. IT HAS THE NEATEST WOOD HANDLE & OVER ALL LENGTH 17 INCHES & BLADE LENGTH 12 INCHES. THE LEATHER SHEATH THAT FITS IT LIKE A GLOVE IS 13 INCHES IN LENGTH. UPDATE ON 9/18/2015 FLOYD RITTER ANTIQUE COLLECTOR & BOWIE KNIFE EXPERT SIGNED A DOCUMENTATION LETTER STATING THAT HE SOLD THIS TO ME YEARS AGO & HE BOUGHT IT FROM BOWIE KNIFE EXPERT THAT WROTE BOOKS ON KNIFES HOWARD COLE COLLECTOR BIRMINGHAM ALABAMA.
